More Holdups In Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United Deal

The Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United deal faces more delays as Man Utd fans reach the end of their patience on the announcement.

All week Manchester United fans have been frantically refreshing their social media accounts awaiting the announcement of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United, and with Alexis Sanchez having his medical this Sunday afternoon many fans feel an official announcement from the club is just hours away. However, it’s today been reported that the Alexis Sanchez deal could still be another 48 hours away….Whether this is more smoke and mirrors from the press who’ve been saying Sanchez would sign for United in the next 48 hours since 1986 remains to be seen. But how much more can Manchester United fans take?

Alexis Sanchez is the club’s most significant signing in years, literally stealing Arsenal’s best player from under the noses of Manchester City is the sort of signing dreams are made of and the desire to see Sanchez holding up a United shirt is one fans have been waiting for all week.

Let’s hope the reports are wrong and we’ll all be sitting down for Sunday Night LIVE on The United Stand at 8pm with Alexis Sanchez officially a Manchester United player.

Raiola Holds Up Sanchez to Manchester United Deal

Mino Raiola, Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent, is now reportedly the biggest factor in the Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United deal. So who is Mino Raiola and how has he become more powerful than Manchester United in this deal?

Alex Ferguson was never a fan of super agent Mino Raiola and blamed him for the loss of Paul Pogba to Juventus, but in recent years Manchester United have been more than happy to feed Raiola’s ego in return for the likes of Pogba, Zlatan, Mkhitaryan and Lukaku.

In the case of Mkhitaryan, it now looks like Raiola could be come the obstacle Sir Alex always said he was….

Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United is a deal that’s been limping on all week and the latest suggestion is that Mino Raiola is the man holding it up. Sanchez and United agreed their part of the deal last weekend, with full details of his wage and signing on fee leaked on Wednesday. However, a deal cannot be achieved until Manchester United and Arsenal agree on the fee, and with Arsenal wanting a player, Mkhitaryan, instead of cash, this is where Raiola comes in and wields his power.

So much power that it’s now being suggested by those close to the deal that it’s up to Raiola if Mkhitaryan goes to Arsenal or not. If Raiola decides it’s good for his client, it will happen. If he doesn’t like the deal it won’t. What that means for Sanchez and United remains to be seen. But it’s another example of the power agents now hold in football and it doesn’t take much guesswork to predict that the biggest factor in whether this deal will go ahead or not will be money.

With Mkhitaryan and Raiola guaranteed to make more money from this deal than they would if he stayed at United on his current contract, or returned to Dortmund who don’t have the financial pull of Arsenal, it’s pretty certain Mkhitaryan will move to Arsenal. But not until Raiola is happy that the slice of the pie he and his client get are to his liking and size.

Fellaini to Quit Manchester United

Marouane Fellaini will quit Manchester United this summer for a new challenge according to reports.

Out of contract this month and free to arrange a deal with any club outside the Premier League, Fellaini’s future has long been one of concern for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.

Manchester United now find themselves in the strange situation where a player with Fellaini’s limited qualities effectively has them begging him to stay. So much so that Jose Mourinho is still hoping he can persuade Fellaini to stay on their current trip to Dubai.

However, it is understood that Fellaini wants a new challenge away from Manchester United. And whilst this thirst for a new challenge may well be driven by the fact that he’s a free agent and can expect substantial wages at his new club and a signing on fee running in to millions, the reality is Marouane Fellaini is somewhat of a divider when it comes to Manchester United fan opinion.

Whilst some will miss the big man’s no nonsense approach and effort levels, others will rejoice in the departure of a player who symbolises the route one direct football many United fans detest.
