Middlesbrough weigh up loan offer for Andreas Pereira

Middlesbrough have reportedly made an enquiry over Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira according to the Daily Mail.

Pereira was one of eight united players who were told that they had no immediate future under the Portuguese two weeks ago.

United are said to be only wiling to sanction a loan deal for the talented youngster and do not want the 20-year-old to leave the club on a permanent basis.

Mourinho wants the Brazilian to go out and gain more first team experience away from united and would like the youngster to have a full season of games under his belt, before he is considered for his first team plans at Old Trafford.

Boro were said to have been interested in taking Pereria to the Riverside at the back end of last season on an emergency loan, but a deal failed to materialise.

The top-flight new boys have recruited significantly over the summer under the guidance of Victor Orta and he is keen to add more new faces to his squad before the transfer window slams shut, starting with Pereria.

In moving to the Riverside, Pereira would almost guarantee himself first team football enabling him the chance to show the world what he is all about. Staying at Manchester United to feature in the odd domestic cup game and the Under-21 side would not be fair on Pereira nor anyone else.

For a player as talented as he is to be wasting away in the Under-21’s every week would be a crime, not only for him, but for football.

Moyes wants Januzaj loan deal

New Sunderland manager and ex Manchester United manager, David Moyes, wants to take Adnan Januzaj on loan for the season.

David Moyes is set to enquire over a loan deal to bring Januzaj, 21, to the Stadium of Light. Sunderland wanted to sign the Belgium international last season before his loan move to Borussia Dortmund.

The young Belgian’s loan to the German club was anything but successful making only 6 appearances for Dortmund and having his loan deal cut short in January.

Januzaj made his full debut for United against Sunderland, under David Moyes, back in 2013 scoring twice in a 2-1 win for United. He was one of the few positives to come out of David Moyes tenure at United with his performances being met with rave reviews and greeted with great positivity and optimism from United fans.

However since then his career at United has stalled with a string of poor performances and the arrivals of Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial.

David Moyes wants to sign Januzaj and build a squad capable of more than fighting relegation with Adnan Januzaj hoping to kick start his career under the manager that gave him his Premier League debut. If he can secure a loan move away from Old Trafford this season then it will surely be his last chance to impress Mourinho and convince him that he deserves a place at United.

Is a loan move the right thing for Januzaj and United or would a permanent move away be better for both player and club? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

Varela joins Eintract Frankfurt on season-long loan

Manchester United have officially confirmed a deal for Uruguayan right back Guillermo Varela to join Bundesliga side Eintract Frankfurt on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old defender joined United in 2013 from Uruguayan side Penarol but has struggled to hold down a first team place at Old Trafford.

He has made 11 appearances for United and has also spent a year on loan with Real Madrid’s Castilla team.

He was highly regarded by United fans as an exciting young full back, however he has not pushed on under Louis Van Gaal and fell out of favour with Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia preferred as right-back options.

The Uruguayan had also been known for his attacking instinct as a full back but his defensive frailities were recognized in Van Gaal’s last season at Old Trafford, most noticeably in the Europa League tie against Liverpool where he was at fault for Phillipe Coutinho’s solo goal.

It now remains unclear at Varela’s age whether he still has a future at Old Trafford, however Frankfurt may offer him the first-team football he requires.

Varela was involved in Mourinho’s first pre-season friendly away to Wigan, however did not travel to China on United’s tour as the deal was finalised.

Villarreal line up Rojo Loan

Spanish side Villarreal are lining up a potential loan move for defender Marcos Rojo. Villarreal are looking for defensive cover after selling Eric Bailly to United earlier in the summer and are preparing to lose Mateo Musacchio to AC Milan.

The Argentina international, 26, is one of the players Jose Mourinho is considering letting go this summer with the arrival of Bailly and the return to fitness of Luke Shaw.

Louis Van Gaal signed Marcos Rojo for £16million in 2014 from Sporting Lisbon. But he has struggled to tie down a regular first team spot and made just 15 Premier League starts last season.

Rojo’s season was disrupted by a shoulder injury which saw him miss almost 3 months of the campaign. However upon his return to the team he never looked fully fit, lacked confidence during games and was unable to produce the performances needed to please fans and seemingly Jose Mourinho.

A move away from Old Trafford may well be what Rojo needs to kick start his career again after a fairly unsuccessful 2 years at United. Many fans want a permanent transfer but may have to settle with a loan move at this stage.

James Wilson not in Mourinho’s plans

Jose Mourinho will reportedly tell James Wilson he is not in his plans for next season and is free to go on loan.

Wilson burst onto the Old Trafford scene scoring 2 goals in a 3-1 win over Hull in 2014 during his full first team debut.

Wilson spent last season on loan at Brighton after ex manager Louis Van Gaal deemed him surplus to requirements as Jose Mourinho seemingly does also.

During his loan spell at Brighton James Wilson scored 5 goals on the way to The Championship play-offs. However this does not seemed to have convinced “The Special One” of his ability to claim a spot in his United squad. The Sun are reporting that Wilson will have a meeting with Mourinho next week to be told he is not in his plans for the coming season.

James Wilson will not be short of options

The report from The Sun suggests that the rise of Marcus Rashford has had an impact on the development of Wilson. With Rashford now being the hottest youth prospect at United Wilson will seemingly be left in the cold.

Wilson will not be without options for next season with both Aston Villa and Birmingham keen on signing him.

Let us know if you would send Wilson on loan next season or keep him at Old Trafford?

Youth player Ashley Fletcher hopes Barnsley form will catch Jose’s attention

Manchester United Under-21 striker, Ashley Fletcher, is hoping that his recent visit to Wembley Stadium as a player will catch the eye of new United boss, Jose Mourinho.

Fletcher is currently on loan at Barnsley and recently scored in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy helping his team to a final victory. He then returned to Wembley to watch United V Palace in the FA Cup final.

Fletcher will be making another appearance at Wembley this afternoon, as a player, in the League One play-ff final, hoping he can help Barnsley to promotion. Maybe that will catch Mourinho’s attention.

“My aim will be to go back to Manchester United and see what happens there. I’ve got to play my game. If they like me and give me an opportunity, then I hope I can take it. That’s my aim, to go back there and show them what I’m about.”

Ashley Fletcher was the lead striker in United’s Under-21 team at the beginning of the season and has since been overtaken by Marcus Rashford. With Mourinho unlikely to load the squad full of youngsters next season, Fletcher had this to say:

“Going on loan again is another option. But my full focus will be to go back there and try to get into that first team.”

Will Keane recalled from Preston to bolster attack

Manchester United have recalled Will Keane from his loan spell at Preston in a bid to strengthen their attack.

The red devils have only managed 22 goals so far this season with just 10 of them coming at Old Trafford.

Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial are the only strikers United have after the departures of Robin van Persie to Fenerbache, Radamel Falcao who’s loan spell was not made permanent, Javier Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen and James Wilson on loan at Brighton.

Will Keane has scored just twice in 22 games for Championship side, Preston and has only made one appearance for Manchester United as a late substitute in a match against Blackburn in 2011.

When asked about Will Keane being recalled, Preston manager, Simon Grayson, had this to say:

It happened in the last 24 hours or so. United felt they needed an extra body around them.

Obviously it’s disappointing to lose Will. In the last few weeks he’s been finding his feet with us, but that is what happens when you get loan players.

We accept it. We will probably go into the market over the next few days and weeks to bring in reinforcements. Hopefully he will do well for Manchester United.

When asked if Will Keane could provide the goals United lack, he said:

It’s a big step up. But he’s played regularly for us, he’s fit, so time will tell.
