Danny Rose wants Man Utd move over Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose would choose Manchester United over Chelsea if he was to leave the London club, simply because he would rather play for Jose Mourinho than Antonio Conte, according to a report on the Daily Star.

The Englishman has been out with injury since January but is close to a return after participating in training with the first team squad.

Rose looked set to leave the north London club in the summer when he made remarks about the wage structure at the club and how he felt that he deserves more money. Rose also had a dig at the club for not winning any trophies but was fined by the club and issued an apology.

United and Chelsea were quick to register their interest in Rose and it is now understood that the full-back is itching to work under Mourinho. The Portuguese is said to be preparing a £45m deal to bring the defender to Old Trafford in the January transfer window, but is expecting Spurs to be stubborn about selling a key player to a direct rival.

The left-back spot at United is up for grabs, with Ashley Young deputising fantastically in that position so far. However, if United sign Rose, it could spell the end for Luke Shaw at the club.

Do you think United should sign Rose?

Antonio Conte emerges as possible LVG replacement

Squawka have reported that Manchester United could make a shock move for Italy coach Antonio Conte in the summer.

It is understood that Conte is not keen on renewing his contract with the Italian national team which expires after the Euro’s in France. This has put many European clubs on alert, including Manchester United.

Conte, 46, has had success as a manager most notably with Juventus. He won three Serie A titles and two Supercoppa Italiana cups with the Italian giants.

However, there would be a disadvantage should Man United employ him in that he has not had any experience playing or managing in England.

Chelsea are also reported to be interested in securing the services of Conte while Roma have already made contact.
