Man City and Barcelona looked favourites to sign the Juventus star this summer but new City boss Guardiola is looking at different options and Barcelona seem to have been priced out of any potential move. Real Madrid also remain interested but are yet to follow up on any potential deal.
United will not be perturbed by the huge transfer fee as they look to rebuild a squad capable of challenging for domestic and European success once more.
Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of Pogba, after he tried to sign him last summer for Chelsea, and wants to build the United midfield around him.
Let us know what you think. Will Pogba sign for United?
Manchester United are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Villarreal defender Eric Bailly according to widespread reports.
AS and radio station Cadena SER are reporting that both clubs have reached an agreement in principle in a deal worth up to £31.3 Million pounds.
United still need to agree personal terms with Bailly, but according to the Daily Mirror that will be only a formality.
The likes of Manchester City, Paris St Germain and Barcelona have too reportedly shown keen interest in the defender, however it appears United have won the race for his signature.
Bailly featured twenty five times for Villarreal in La Liga last season and made seven Europa League appearances, scoring one goal. Whilst at international level for the Ivory Coast he has made 13 caps, most recently playing in a friendly against Hungary in May.
With the announcement that Jose Mourinho is Manchester United’s new manager, Mata’s future at the club is in question.
In Jose Mourinho’s time at Stamford Bridge, he decided to allow Juan Mata to go to Old Trafford at ease which sparks the question whether he’ll let go of the Spaniard as easily this time round.
Barcelona, the La Liga giants, have been heavily linked with Mata for some time now and as he’ll now be under Mourinho’s United, that might tempt the 28-year-old to make the move.
Mundo Deportivo have reported that Barcelona are looking to strengthen their squad this season to try and gain European victory in the Champions League next season.
The Nou Camp already boasts impressive talent under the likes of world class stars Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Juan Mata has impressive stats himself which have impressed Barcelona such as his 89% pass accuracy and his FA Cup final goal really put him into their high priority of summer transfer targets.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t included in the Euro 2016 squad for Spain so is desperate to get back to winning ways which the move to Spain could offer him.
History may repeat itself again as Sportsmail has reported that his advisors are set to discuss Mata’s future at United with Mourinho to make sure he still has an active role – this is the same action that took place two years ago before Mata was sold to Manchester United.
The £37.1 million transfer from Chelsea is desperate to stay at the club and has shown this with his passionate display at Wembley in the FA Cup final.
Mata is currently in Catalonia, fuelling the rumours that he is considering the move back to Spain.
As Mata is back under Mourinho’s wing, could history repeat itself? Will he make the move to the Spanish giants? Do you want him to stay at the club?

With current Manchester United captain, Wayne Rooney, now preferring a midfield role, Mourinho will be looking for two fowards to revitalise United’s attacking threat with the Real Madrid forward being preferred to Borussia Drtmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Despite Benzema previously accusing Mourinho of being over-critical of him during their time together at Madrid, the 28-year-old has admitted that the criticism made him a better player.
“Mourinho criticised me. But it was his way of making me react. At the start, it hurt me, but I am used to it now.”
Karim Benzema bagged 79 goals in 150 appearances under Mourinho and was considered a key figure by the manager during his time at the Bernabeu.
Despite Jose’s interest in Benzema, United officials are aware of the problems they may face in signing the player as he is currently in talks with Madrid over a new contract and faces a potential court case after being charged for conspiracy to blackmail. Not to mention his resistance of the Premier League in past seasons.
If you are unsure about Karim Benzema, watch him in action below:
There have been a lot of rumours recently of players United are apparently scouting or interested in, but there have been very few rumours of players leaving. There is one exception, however, and it’s a player no one wants to see leave: David de Gea.
As I am sure you are all aware by now, highly rated, long-time Manchester United target, Renato Sanches has signed a deal with German giants, Bayern Munich. And reports suggest that United had actually pulled out of the deal back in February due to focusing their efforts on other targets.
Who is Joao Mario? You might ask. He is a 23-year old Portugal international, plying his trade in the Primeira Liga as a creative, box-to-box midfielder for Sporting Lisbon. He also has a reputation of being aggressive; Something United severely lack in the midfield!
So far this season, Mario has made 37 appearances for Sporting Lisbon, scoring 7 goals and has been a stand out midfielder in Europe.
It is understood that United have been in talks with Mario’s representatives and are to offer the player a wage of £140,000 per week while meeting his £45m release clause.
As with every transfer rumour, we should take this with a pinch of salt. It all sounds too familiar to the Sanches rumour (and many others). And it would just be typical if in a months time, we hear that he has signed for another big European club with United claiming they are focusing on other targets!
Anyway, if you are unsure of Joao Mario’s abilities, watch the video below:
The Dutchman has failed to hit the ground running at Old Trafford following his £25 Million pound move from PSV last summer.
Memphis 22, hasn’t scored a league goal for the club since November and has more often than not found himself sitting on the substitutes bench.
It’s reported that the winger has already held showdown talks with head coach Louis Van Gaal over his future and according to the Daily Star, United are ready to let him leave in the transfer window.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is said to be a huge fan of Memphis and is keen to make a move for the winger sooner rather than later, with Memphis already attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Paris Saint German.
Mane has been on United’s radar for some time now and remains on the club’s wish list as they look to bring in a host of fresh talent this summer.
