United lead race for Pogba

Manchester United are leading the race to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus this summer after Man City have seemingly pulled out of the running.

United have been told they must pay a British record £78m to land Pogba, which is nearly 100 times the amount they lost him for 4 years ago after receiving £800K in compensation from Juventus.

Man City and Barcelona looked favourites to sign the Juventus star this summer but new City boss Guardiola is looking at different options and Barcelona seem to have been priced out of any potential move. Real Madrid also remain interested but are yet to follow up on any potential deal.

United will not be perturbed by the huge transfer fee as they look to rebuild a squad capable of challenging for domestic and European success once more.

Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of Pogba, after he tried to sign him last summer for Chelsea, and wants to build the United midfield around him.

Let us know what you think. Will Pogba sign for United?

United on verge of Eric Bailly signing

Manchester United are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Villarreal defender Eric Bailly according to widespread reports.

AS and radio station Cadena SER are reporting that both clubs have reached an agreement in principle in a deal worth up to £31.3 Million pounds.

United still need to agree personal terms with Bailly, but according to the Daily Mirror that will be only a formality.

The likes of Manchester City, Paris St Germain and Barcelona have too reportedly shown keen interest in the defender, however it appears United have won the race for his signature.

Bailly featured twenty five times for Villarreal in La Liga last season and made seven Europa League appearances, scoring one goal. Whilst at international level for the Ivory Coast he has made 13 caps, most recently playing in a friendly against Hungary in May.

De Gea transfer to Madrid “difficult”

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, 25, looks set to stay at Old Trafford this summer after the sacking of Louis Van Gaal and the arrival of Jose Mourinho.

De Gea is keen to remain at Old Trafford after the arrival of ‘The Special One’ having reportedly been looking for a move away if Van Gaal was to remain in charge next season.

The United keeper is once again being linked with a summer move to Real Madrid after seeing a proposed move to Madrid last summer collapse at the last minute.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has spoken about the possibility of Madrid signing De Gea but his latest comments have thrown a move into doubt.

Perez was quoted as saying “I am not the one who has to decide,” Perez told reporters “I would say it is very difficult to manage two great players in that position.”

Real Madrid already have Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas as their current 1st choice keeper who had a brilliant season for Madrid keeping 13 clean sheets in La Liga this season.

With these latest comments from the President of Real Madrid and with De Gea wanting to stay at Old Trafford to work with Jose Mourinho we may finally have an end to this transfer tug of war.

Let us know what you think. Will David De Gea stay at United or will Real Madrid get their man?

Barcelona to tempt Manchester United’s Juan Mata away this summer

With the announcement that Jose Mourinho is Manchester United’s new manager, Mata’s future at the club is in question.

In Jose Mourinho’s time at Stamford Bridge, he decided to allow Juan Mata to go to Old Trafford at ease which sparks the question whether he’ll let go of the Spaniard as easily this time round.

Barcelona, the La Liga giants, have been heavily linked with Mata for some time now and as he’ll now be under Mourinho’s United, that might tempt the 28-year-old to make the move.

Mundo Deportivo have reported that Barcelona are looking to strengthen their squad this season to try and gain European victory in the Champions League next season.

The Nou Camp already boasts impressive talent under the likes of world class stars Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Juan Mata has impressive stats himself which have impressed Barcelona such as his 89% pass accuracy and his FA Cup final goal really put him into their high priority of summer transfer targets.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t included in the Euro 2016 squad for Spain so is desperate to get back to winning ways which the move to Spain could offer him.

History may repeat itself again as Sportsmail has reported that his advisors are set to discuss Mata’s future at United with Mourinho to make sure he still has an active role – this is the same action that took place two years ago before Mata was sold to Manchester United.

The £37.1 million transfer from Chelsea is desperate to stay at the club and has shown this with his passionate display at Wembley in the FA Cup final.

Mata is currently in Catalonia, fuelling the rumours that he is considering the move back to Spain.

As Mata is back under Mourinho’s wing, could history repeat itself? Will he make the move to the Spanish giants? Do you want him to stay at the club?

Benzema to partner Ibrahimovic

Imagine that for a moment. Karim Benzema and Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing up-front for Manchester United. Well if reports in the Independent are to be believed. It could happen.

It is understood that Jose Mourinho has identified Karim Benzema as a priority target while Paris Saint-Germain striker Ibrahimovic is close to agreeing a deal to move to Old Trafford to be reunited with old boss, Mourinho. The two became close during their time at Inter Milan.

With current Manchester United captain, Wayne Rooney, now preferring a midfield role, Mourinho will be looking for two fowards to revitalise United’s attacking threat with the Real Madrid forward being preferred to Borussia Drtmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Despite Benzema previously accusing Mourinho of being over-critical of him during their time together at Madrid, the 28-year-old has admitted that the criticism made him a better player.

“Mourinho criticised me. But it was his way of making me react. At the start, it hurt me, but I am used to it now.”

Karim Benzema bagged 79 goals in 150 appearances under Mourinho and was considered a key figure by the manager during his time at the Bernabeu.

Despite Jose’s interest in Benzema, United officials are aware of the problems they may face in signing the player as he is currently in talks with Madrid over a new contract and faces a potential court case after being charged for conspiracy to blackmail. Not to mention his resistance of the Premier League in past seasons.

If you are unsure about Karim Benzema, watch him in action below:

David de Gea likely to leave if LVG stays

There have been a lot of rumours recently of players United are apparently scouting or interested in, but there have been very few rumours of players leaving. There is one exception, however, and it’s a player no one wants to see leave: David de Gea.

It is understood that the Manchester United goalkeeper’s relationship with Louis van Gaal has deteriorated recently and the Spaniard is considering leaving Old Trafford in the summer if the red devils don’t appoint a new manager.

David de Gea came close to leaving United last summer when a proposed money-plus-player (Keylor Navas) deal collapsed in the final moments of the transfer window.

Despite another fantastic season between the sticks, it is believed that de Gea will wait and see what happens with the managerial situation before committing to Manchester United.

Missing out on the Champions League has a huge part to play in de Gea’s uncertainty, however, he may stay if United appoint Jose Mourinho. Both him and de Gea have the same agent in Jorge Mendez.

Leroy Sane another target for United

With the Premier League season now finished (bar United’s final game against Bournemouth) transfer rumours are picking up pace.

And speaking of pace, Manchester United have been watching Schalke 04’s pacey attacking midfielder, Leroy Sane.

The 20-year old winger has a lethal turn of pace and is quick with his feet and thus being scouted by several of Europe’s top clubs.

As a result, his employers, Schalke 04 have slapped a £40m price tag on him in an attempt to deter any potential buyers.

Leroy Sane has established himself in Schalke 04’s first team making 42 appearances and scoring 9 goals this season alone.

Other Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are also believed to be interested in Sane, but United are understood to be leading the race for his signature.

You can see Leroy Sane in action below:

Forget Sanches, United target Super Mario!

As I am sure you are all aware by now, highly rated, long-time Manchester United target, Renato Sanches has signed a deal with German giants, Bayern Munich. And reports suggest that United had actually pulled out of the deal back in February due to focusing their efforts on other targets.

In the light of these reports another transfer rumour has surfaced and the player in question this time is Joao Mario.

Who is Joao Mario? You might ask. He is a 23-year old Portugal international, plying his trade in the Primeira Liga as a creative, box-to-box midfielder for Sporting Lisbon. He also has a reputation of being aggressive; Something United severely lack in the midfield!

So far this season, Mario has made 37 appearances for Sporting Lisbon, scoring 7 goals and has been a stand out midfielder in Europe.

It is understood that United have been in talks with Mario’s representatives and are to offer the player a wage of £140,000 per week while meeting his £45m release clause.

As with every transfer rumour, we should take this with a pinch of salt. It all sounds too familiar to the Sanches rumour (and many others). And it would just be typical if in a months time, we hear that he has signed for another big European club with United claiming they are focusing on other targets!

Anyway, if you are unsure of Joao Mario’s abilities, watch the video below:

United step up interest in Aubameyang

Transfer rumours are beginning to come thick and fast with the season drawing to a close and the latest rumour coming out of United is that the club have registered solid interest in Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The £70million rated striker has been in fine form for Dortmund this year scoring 34 goals in 41 games and is being courted by other European giants such as Chelsea and Real Madrid.

It’s no secret United have been scouting Aubameyang as we reported back in December that United were preparing a January bid to bring him to Old Trafford.

Whether Aubameyang will be allowed to leave Dortmund or not remains to be seen considering Ilkay Gundogan is set to join Manchester City and Mats Hummels’ future unclear.

If Aubameyang does leave, it is understood his most likely destination would be Real Madrid despite him declaring an interest in the Premier League.

When asked about playing for Real Madrid he had this to say:

“Real Madrid? There is no agreement but I promised my grandfather I would play there one day.

“Why wouldn’t I want to discover new things? As I’ve said several times, I’d like to play in Spain and have good weather for once in my life!’”

Personally I would love to see Aubameyang playing for United. He is a prolific goal scorer and we could do with that in our attack. We cannot just rely on our youth players to provide the goals.

Memphis Depay and Sadio Mane swap deal

Manchester United are ready to offer Memphis Depay to Southampton, in a bid to sign Sadio Mane according to reports.

The Dutchman has failed to hit the ground running at Old Trafford following his £25 Million pound move from PSV last summer.

Memphis 22, hasn’t scored a league goal for the club since November and has more often than not found himself sitting on the substitutes bench.

It’s reported that the winger has already held showdown talks with head coach Louis Van Gaal over his future and according to the Daily Star, United are ready to let him leave in the transfer window.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is said to be a huge fan of Memphis and is keen to make a move for the winger sooner rather than later, with Memphis already attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Paris Saint German.

Mane has been on United’s radar for some time now and remains on the club’s wish list as they look to bring in a host of fresh talent this summer.
