Does Rashford need a move?

Marcus Rashford’s career at Old Trafford started better than anyone could have imagined. From trying to break into the U21 team to starting and scoring twice to help United beat FC Midtjylland. The young striker made a habit scoring on every debut he ever made.

However, despite this strong start under former boss Louis Van Gaal; Marcus Rashford’s career hasn’t reached the same heights since. Despite José Mourinho claiming he plays the most games and is always involved in the lineups Rashford’s game time or lack of, is starting to infuriate the fans.

With the young man previously being tipped to be the most likely to break the all time leading goal scoring record set by Wayne Rooney (253) he needs more game time at his age to even attempt this. When Manchester United appointed José Mourinho everyone knew youth football would not be a priority; something Louis Van Gaal heavily incorporated despite most saying this was only due to the injuries to first team players. However, Marcus Rashford and others such as Anthony Martial & Andreas Pereira are not teenagers anymore and need to be getting minutes on the pitch. All three have the talent, energy, youth & flair; traits the fans look for in a United player.

Does Marcus Rashford need to move albeit on loan until the end of the season or a permanent deal to regain his scoring abilities in a club shirt and get his career on point. Southgate claims he needs to use their International fixtures to give his players minutes because they are lacking in club football. Is it Mourinho’s fault for not playing him or is Marcus Rashford not applying himself & proving himself in training behind closed doors.

If Southgate is to label Rashford as their possible answer to Cristiano Ronaldo then Marcus Rashford needs to apply himself on and off the pitch like the Portuguese man once did in his early career in the red jersey at Old Trafford.
