Manchester United are looking at hijacking Chelsea target Alex Sandro. Sandro is a want-away left back at Juventus, and is looking at moving clubs as soon as January.
Left back has been a consistent problem under Mourinho with no one really making the position their own. Blind and Darmian have been out of form for most of the season so far, Shaw has played well with the limited playing time he’s been given. The only player that has had a good run at left back is Ashley Young, but with the left wing back approaching 33 years old at the end of this season United are looking at long term replacements.
The name that has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford is Danny Rose: However, more recent reports are suggesting Sandro is Mourinho’s first choice with Rose as a back-up. They’d both cost around £50mil, but Sandro is the better of the two left backs.
Mourinho has been given £80mil to spend during January’s transfer window, Sandro would be an affordable target. Not only that the transfer of Sandro to Man Utd would make it a hattrick of transfer wins over Chelsea; Lukaku, Matic and Sandro.
Sandro is a huge player for Juventus and the Italian giants would be unwilling to let him go without a fight. However, Juventus are very interested in Darmian and Jose is open to offers for the Italian full back over the January transfer window. Could there be a swap deal between the Italian and Brazilian? I hope so!
Sandro is influential in Juventus’ results, in spite of that Juventus still insists on keeping Sandro on the bench. Could this be a sign that he will be on his way out of the Serie A club next month?
Stats don’t lie. £50mil? In today’s market, it’s an absolute steal!
