Man Utd Squad Travels to Russia

Manchester United travelled to Russia yesterday afternoon to give them the best chance of adjusting time zones as possible. They play CSKA Moscow tomorrow night in the Champions League.

It’ll be a tough fixture with the travel time of around 6 hours. However, after being drawn in the same group as the Russian team, United will be thanking their lucky stars that this away fixture has come so soon in the year. The conditions could have been a lot more robust had we been playing this fixture at the start of December.

With the run of fixtures in close succession, squad rotation is almost inevitable. So which players are confirmed to have travelled, and which noticeable players look to have stayed in Manchester?

Confirmed United Squad

David de Gea
Sergio Romero
Joel Pereira

Eric Bailly
Victor Lindelof
Chris Smalling
Daley Blind
Matteo Darmian
Axel Tuanzebe

Nemanja Matic
Ander Herrera
Scott McTominay
Jesse Lingard
Ashley Young
Juan Mata
Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Anthony Martial
Marcus Rashford
Romelu Lukaku

The most noticeable absentees that were not seen to have travelled were; Valencia, Jones, Carrick, Shaw, Rojo (Knee), Pogba (Hamstring) & Fellaini (Leg).

Are the fit absentees being rested for the weekend’s home match against Crystal Palace? That remains to be seen. First things first, let’s keep our winning start in the Champions League going by beating CSKA Moscow in their own backyard.

Supported United since the days of the yellow and green Sharp Jersey! Looking forward to Jose taking us back to the glory days of old. We're stepping in the right direction. Exciting times! Come on the lads!
