Valencia out for up to 5 months

Valencia injured his foot during the goalless Manchester derby last month.

It’s reported that the Manchester United winger could face five months on the sidelines as he recovers from his injury.

The club have not given a defined timescale for his recovery. However, Valencia himself has posted photos of his foot in bandages on Twitter, saying that he “came out well from the operation”.

It is claimed that the bone above his left foot was damaged during the match and the fact he did not come off straight away meant that more damage was done.

With Valencia often used as cover at right back, this will now limit Louis van Gaal’s options defensively. Something Manchester United have been used to in recent seasons.
